Application of the pseudodistribution method to the gluon distribution function

Dr. Wayne Morris III

The pseudodistribution method is a short distance factorization (SDF) approach to extracting parton distribution functions (PDFs) from lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD). In this talk I will discuss the methodology behind pseudodistributions, and present the calculation of matching relations connecting gluon PDFs to gluon Ioffe-time pseudodistributions (pseudo-ITDs). Specifically, I will describe the details of the gluon calculation in the background field method. Finally, I will discuss and present the results of a preliminary lattice extraction of the gluon PDF for the nucleon.
